Day #14
"It's all relative!"
State Route 257, Thompson TWP. Ohio
At about 10:00am today our power came back on. The snow started and the wind picked up. School was canceled again, and my work was closed due to power outage. But I had to end up going to work anyway to switch out my networks rack of switches, when the power goes out they way it does during these ice storms, the result can be bad for electronics. But I did have time to get out and take a few photos.
I say its all relative in at the begenning, because it all depends on where you are. Us city dwellers are use to having the city take care of our roads. and we can usually get just about anywhere easily. My 3 mile drive to work is usually not a big deal. I figured that since it wasn't bad in town, that I would take a trip. So I decided I wanted to go out and take some "Country" photos. Nice, quiet, serene, beautiful land scape photos. I got about 4 miles past the city limits and realized the country is a lot different than the City! Roads of solid ice, I even got passed... Noone to be seen anywhere. And in some spots the road was nowhere to be seen. I have a little more respect for the people who have to drive this every day. It makes my drive to work a cake walk.
I finally got back to Delaware and decided that I would just head to the college and take some photos. Ended up getting interviewed by a gentleman from WOSU/NPR radio, I haven't found the audio interview anywhere on-line, but if I do I will post it here.
It was nice to be back home with to share my days pictures with everyone. But I don't think I will head to the country for anymore winter photos. Unless the wind has stopped blowing like in the photo!
