Day #9

I LOVE the internet!

If you look to the very center of this photo. You will see a bolt head down on the painted red area. Last week while I was driving my car, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. The bells started dinging and the TCS and ABS lights lit up. And in the information center on the dash said "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" I thought here we go, a trip to a mechanic and a HUGE BILL! But where do I check first, the internet, actually the naioa.com website, which has to do with any thing Impala. A quick search reveals that bolt holds the Ground wire of the ABS & TCS system, and when it gets rusty or corroded, it will cause the system to fail. But if you take out the bolt clean the area where it bolts to the body, clean the terminal end and clean up the bolt it usually fixes the problem. In my case it did. About a 15-20min job.

Now, I wonder what a dealer or mechanic would have found or said needed replaced. I will never know, but I do know that while you should not believe everything you read on the internet, I do know that you its a great place to start!

I wish most things in life were this easy of a fix!
